Mirror to Murder

It was a time of fast talking detectives, sexy dames and naïve fall guys. The movies of the era were full of such characters. But in 1946 Caldwell, Idaho, it wasn't a fictional story from Hollywood. Gladys Broadhurst, who was married to wealthy Dr. W.D. Broadhurst, wanted him dead and gone so that she could collect his substantial assets. And in a love-sick young cowboy she had the perfect patsy. When both watched The Postman Always Rings Twice at a theater, Gladys told her young lover, "It's too bad that something like that can't happen to the doctor." Soon enough, real events would mirror Hollywood fantasy.
