Rezensionen

Fue el primer libro que me hizo sentir algo más que curiosidad, más que terror me mantuvo con la historia presente a pesar de encontrarme realizando otras actividades. Por mucho, mi libro favorito.

This book just wasn't for me. From the very beginning, I didn't feel connected to our main character, Paul. Even the unfortunate events that happened to him didn't evoke much empathy in me. Additionally, I found myself losing interest in entire chapters about fast cars and the Misery’s return. After finishing the book, I watched the movie, and I appreciated that many things that didn't make sense in the book (which occurred continuously throughout the book) were better explained in the movie. It's true that in the movie, the violence is toned down significantly compared to the book. However, in my opinion, in the book, Annie doesn't have enough reasons for the many harmful things she does to Paul.My main issue was with the descriptions of Annie in the book. The elements of her appearance were used as horror elements, portraying her as old and ugly, among other things. I don't believe this was necessary to create fear in the reader. Interestingly, in the movie, Annie is portrayed differently, initially appearing as someone good, which gradually builds a sense of fear as her bad actions unfold. In summary, while the book didn't resonate with me due to the lack of connection with the main character and sometimes disjointed plot elements, the movie adaptation offered a more cohesive portrayal of the story. The differences in how Annie's character is depicted between the book and the movie further underscore how different approaches can shape the reader's perception of the narrative.

How this book is so good with only 2 characters and (mainly) 1 room is beyond me. "She only went on laughing and there was a click as the door was shut and her laughter was muted but her laughter was still there, her laughter was on the other side of the door.. and another door closed and her laughter was even more muted (but still there), and another lock clicked and a bolt slammed, and her laughter was going away, her laughter was outside and even after she had started the cruiser up... and driven away, he could still hear her. He thought he could still hear her laughing and laughing and laughing and laughing."
