The Moving Finger (Marple Facsimile)

Although an enjoyable story, it was slow going and not much happened in the end. Also not a huge amount of Marple. She could easily have not featured and the book wouldn't have missed her.

Not in a thousand years would I have guessed... I love Agatha Christie with all my heart. The way she had of writing mysteries is marvelous. This was narrated by Jerry Burton who, after an awful flying accident, is "condemned" to go live in the country to experience a "calmed" life and takes his sister Joanna with him. Getting used to the village of Lymstock and getting to know the villagers, strange things begin to happen starting with the arrival of nasty anonymous letters. Thinking it was just a joke, everyone gets baffled when the first tragedy occurs: Mrs. Symmington's dead body is found suggesting suicide due to one of this letters. Police starts to investigate but it isn't until Miss Marple's arrival almost at the end of the book that all the pieces Jerry Burton (and us) had been gathering fell into place. I enjoyed this book so much. Totally recommend. Probably my favorite Miss Marple book so far. 

Bueno, es el primer libro que leo sobre Miss Marple y debo decir que en si me ha gustado bastante y eso que tenía mis dudas, pues adoro a Poirot. No voy a repetir lo de otras reseñas como que el personaje de la detective sale poco, ya qu es algo que se ha recalcado mucho y por eso mismo diría que quizás hubiera ido mejor como la casa torcida, tienes a un personaje que no es un detective investigando y narrando la historia, porque prácticamente es lo que sucede aquí con el protagonista y su hermana.También es cierto que el drama del asesino, no sé si es ya porque he leído más libros de la autora y que es la segunda vez que me ocurre, se me hacía evidente, estaba dudando entre dos, solo que la otra opción se me hacía ya demasiada obvia, pero si, no fue un gran descubrimiento. Igual como digo, si me gustó, me gustó por ser una lectura ligera y sus personajes, aunque sigo buscando nuevamente alguna historia como otros de la autora donde sí que me cueste o ni siquiera encuentre a la persona que haya cometido el crimen
