A luxury cruise ship sinks off the coast of an uncharted island somewhere in the pacific ocean during the early 1930's. The survivors of the wreck create a new life for themselves on the island and soon make the decision not to try and return. Soon, a new world emerges in which these people live. An entire economy is formed. Just as the inhabitants believe they have found paradise, social lines are crossed and the island divides itself between an idealist and a madman.
