Nightsingers

Far above the Kinnicut River, at the head of Lost Hollow, lies a forgotten little town known as Dismal Creek. Presumed wiped from the earth by a flood during the middle of the last century, Dismal Creek has been lost to the civilized world—until a deceased boy comes back to life late one night on the riverbank and children from nearby Dry Fork begin to go missing. The dark secrets held by Dismal Creek slowly draw local residents into the world of a backwoods cult that rules the town through ancient traditions, some of which promise unheard of health and longevity but at a terrible price. Only when microbiologist Dr. Drew Gallagher ventures to Dismal Creek and falls under the cult’s influence does he find things he never an elderly relative long thought dead, a woman with whom he falls in love and a terrible plague that is spreading to Dry Fork. His struggles to overcome his old life in Dry Fork and the allure of the new life offered by the cult take Gallagher on a treacherous journey until he must make the final choice. Does he wish to die or will he too become a Nightsinger?
