JT Sterling is nervous but is pleased to finally be treated like a normal teenager without his mother dictating his every move. She rarely lets him go out, and being homeschooled means he has no friends his age. Even though hanging out and playing board games with strangers is not exactly what he would choose to do with a free evening, he’s willing to go along with the plan. JT’s mother, knowing his ability has created problems for him, is worried, but JT is not. JT and Carissa feel an instant attraction, and as they become closer, JT tells her of the prophecies his father recorded. Carissa is already feeling trapped and wants nothing more than to leave Oregon for college in New Jersey, but since she cannot afford to leave, she promises JT she will stay with him. When her father’s passing gives her the financial opportunity, Carissa breaks her promise to JT. Will the prophecies recorded by JT’s father happen without Carissa’s participation? Or is Carissa’s leaving, and subsequent training, necessary for the prophecy’s fulfillment? Is it possible to postpone eternity?
