It began with a thoughtful if provocative letter to a major Montréal newspaper questioning important aspects of Québec life and expressing doubts about Québec sovereignty.
The letter became this book which was described on network television as "an alarming cry" and reportedly led Premier Jacques Parizeau to state that it sent an "electroshock" through him.
Québec is killing me brought instant media attention to Helene Jutras abd much discussion of her views for which she was attacked on the air and in the press by irate Québeckers.
