Slade Masters

Slade Masters was once one of the most feared hit-men in America, a cold-blooded killer who cared little about the messiness of the job, so long as it paid. But one day his conscious caught up to him with a vengeance, much to his shock, and he turned his back on the underworld. Convinced he’d done too much wrong to ever make up for it, he has settled for doing no more harm, and lives the semi-quiet life of a New England ski-town bartender. But redemption is coming, even if it has to drag him along, kicking and screaming.

When Nika Fernandez bursts into his living room one morning, chased by thugs, Slade finds himself thrown back into his old life. Nika is the daughter of an old syndicate boss, and an aspiring treasure hunter. One such hunt has gotten he mixed up with Hayden Black, an old ‘co-worker’ of Slade’s. Black controls the most powerful crime syndicate in Boston, and has a habit of decorating his home with the bones of his victims. And he’s still pretty pissed about the time Slade shot him up and left him for dead. Convinced that Slade is working with Fernandez, Black begins kidnapping his friends and shooting up his home. With no choice, Slade joins Nika on her treasure hunt, hoping to buy his friends’ freedom with a trunk-full of ancient gold. But he knows that if there’s anybody psychotic enough to turn down a small fortune for revenge it’s Hayden Black, and fears that that only way he’s ever going to see his friends again is by taking down Black and his organization, piece by bloody piece.
