I loved this book because of Beckett, Will, and Charlie. They were sexy, funny, amusing, and felt like real enough people which is something I love from Elle Kennedy. I liked how they went through Charlie's adoption and Will's daddy issues.
2.5 stars.While I didn't hate it, and enjoyed parts of it, this was definitely the weakest book of the three.I thought the characters were fine and I appreciated the sex positivity but I found parts of the adoption storyline hard as a Chinese adoptee. I also got very frustrated with Charlie about some of her decision making. They were valid at the beginning but then it just felt like her hesitation was there to make the book longer.The book length was also difficult. It felt like there were chapters and chapters of filler that didn't need to be there and that there could've been less sex scenes.Overall not bad but not my favourite from Elle.
This book has been one of my most anticipated reads since starting the journey with Elle Kennedy’s hockey series—Briar U, Off-Campus and the Campus Diaries, and it DIDN’T DISSAPOINT…much.The book is defenitely the best she’s written in the universe, by far. I love the characters, the set up and dynamics of the relationship between the three, because it was so new and different for Kennedy. The chapters are defenitely the spiciest work that she has done by far in this series, and surely the best, even if at times it felt awkward because, you know, three people and all that ;)However…I wish we could have gotten a little more detail with Will’s life. I feel, no hate to the author, that Kennedy was leaning more towards Beckett throughout the entire book than she was with Will, because there was so many moments between them that revealed things about Beckett—but only one scene with Will during their relationship, really when they are at the alumni ball. I also wish it was dragged out a bit more throughout the school term like the other books, with more characters like Gigi and Diana, etc, added into it because it felt empty around the characters and with the backstory’s—but I’m glad that Hollis was more involved! It even felt like it was being rushed to get to graduation and then moving onto them moving to Australia towards the end.Honestly, it IS genuinely the best book of the entire series that I’ve read…but i wish it was dragged out more and the ending was more finalised because when Will decides not to come with them to stay back and help with the campaign, it just dropped out of nowhere. And then when the campaign comes to an end, there’s a moment in the book where Will does admit there has been moments between him and another coworker where there’s times they have felt sexual tension, which left me doubting if he truly loved Charlotte, which sort of left the ending open and incomplete which is a little dissapointing.But still, defenitely worth a read!!!!!
