The Enforcer

He's an enforcer for a dangerous man,
But he may be the only one who can save me.

I was choking on smoke and surrounded by flames.
Jake walked through them.
Every breath I draw is because of him.
But each one could be my last.

I'm a target and I don't know why.
Jake offers me safety.
Comfort.
He doesn't want anything in return.
In fact, the thought of pulling me close scares him.

He's got a past that haunts him.
My problem is in the shadows.
Lurking.
Waiting.
One mistake could be my last.

But the one I may not be able to escape is falling for Jake...
