Lifelong friends and recent high school graduates Nick Sullivan, Owen Anderson, Dante Lombardo and Ryan Cunningham were at a party, having some fun, when Nick and Owen found themselves in a fight with two bikers. The fight turned tragic when Nick accidentally killed one of the bikers. To protect Nick’s burgeoning pro hockey career, Dante told the cops that he was the one who delivered the fatal blow to the biker. Dante ended up serving some time in prison and Nick went on to play in the NHL.
Ten years later, Ryan falls deep into debt with some mob bookies. The mobsters give Ryan an ultimatum – get your friend Nick to throw a game for us or we’ll kill you. Ryan approaches Nick, threatening to tell the cops and the press what really happened in that fight ten years earlier if Nick doesn’t go along with the plan.
Agonizing over the decision, Nick consults his old friend Owen, now a successful businessman. Owen devises a plan to save Nick from possibly throwing away his hockey career.
