This book runs the gamut from my first flight in 1944 in a Piper Cub to my flight across the Tasman Sea in 1966 as a passenger in a Grumman Albatross. It includes various humorous and exciting tales - like the time the stick came out while I was taking off with my very first student at one of the busiest airports on the East Coast. Things got exciting, but not half as exciting as the time a farmer chased me with a pitchfork after I landed in his alfalfa field.
These and other stories are included in this book. While I have not dwelt only on all the unfortunate episodes during my aviation carer, I have mentioned enough to justify the title -
