Daddy Sherry was born in 1849, and he was nearly one hundred and eleven years old. Daddy was notable for more than longevity, as David Lang, a Toronto columnist and television personality, discovered when he became acquainted with some of the other people in the Alberta foothill town of Shelby.
He had arrived to write an article about Daddy Sherry, and in gathering material on him David Lang found a more rewarding end to his research than a magazine article.
This is a novel remarkable for beauty of description, humour, and original characterization in the tradition of Who Has Seen the Wind, Jake and the Kid, and The Vanishing Point.
