The organization known as Subducation, ventures to rid the continent of Elkery of its elemental magic. Gifted from the first elemental spirits, these abilities given to a select few humans, have since spread and caused problems such as fires, pollution, and greed.

Maeve and Callum, known to each other by their pen-names, have been urged into letter correspondence by outside forces. When each of their worlds shift overnight, the two find themselves living in a safe house for elemental wielders. At the safe house, which doubles as a brothel, the two learn about a secret organization meant to protect wielders, receive training for their elemental abilities, and realize their true feelings for each other.When the organization that has taken them in urges Maeve and Callum to complete an initiation to officially join the organization, the two grow suspicious. The organization built on protecting wielders, hides secrets of its own. Between the Emperor of Elkery, Subducation, and the mysterious organization, Maeve and Callum are forced to choose a side that will make or break the future they hope for.
