The Proxy

Could you be turned into somebody else? Wake up in a world that insists you are a madman, even a murderer? How can you prove everybody else wrong when they all insist you are mad and use your own denials to prove it?

One night in Kabul this becomes the fate of Captain Charles Douglas of the Blues and Royals, veteran of the Afghan War. Befriended by a man he takes for a diplomat and with whom he enjoys the sights and delights, he wakes up with only another officer's uniform to wear and no ID to indicate who he really is.

Struggling through a mire of military bureaucracy into a court martial, Charles Douglas must seek the truth through smoke and mirrors laid by the people who masterminded his dilemma, people who framed him for his own murder and will brand him mad – before they drive him mad, for real.
