John Carew Rolfe

Rolfe is also credited with the introduction of tobacco as a cash crop in Virginia, which would become a cornerstone of the colony's economy. His agricultural innovations and practices helped to pave the way for the economic development of the region. Tragically, Rolfe's life was marked by personal loss, including the death of Pocahontas in England in 1617. Despite this, he continued to play an influential role in the colony until his own death in 1622.
