Descripción

AUDI .

E, se a Hierarquia descobrir quem eu realmente sou, eles vão me matar.

Following a prince everyone thinks is dead through an academic setting that is for the cut throat elite could not be more stressful. The ending leaves the reader reeling as information is gained, adding intrigue and emotion in its wake.

I did not expect to get sucked into this book, but it wasn't long until I was hooked. With so many sides involved, I was constantly curious what each character wanted and why. The overarching plot was a classic fantasy but there were some interesting elements. Definately excited to see what happens in book two. My biggest gripe was that there was a lot of foes in changes to expressions and tone of voice to "play" others, and those parts really started to feel repetitive.

"The man who is never nervous, never does anything hard.  The man who is never nervous, never grows."In this fantasy, we follow Vis, an orphan, who has been plucked from obscurity by a patrician Senator - who may have ideas on how Vis can repay his generosity.I knew this was a really popular book for 2025, but I didn't know much about it before starting it. I had no idea how...Romanesque it would be.  From the tunics and white togas with purple sashes to Hail as a greeting, plus the names and titles - I felt like I was sitting in the agora reading a book near the baths. 😄I really enjoyed that part! It instantly made the book feel like it was built upon some sort of republican society, which aligned the name of the Hierarchy with the political structure and it brought me into the world far faster than chapters of explanations would have.I *love* a competition! <spoiler>So, Vis entering the Academy as a seventh and having to figure out just how to navigate his way up this mini-hierarchy was right in my lane</spoiler>.Although Vis is 17, this didn't feel like a YA book.  There was no spice and the gore was minimal, but it just didn't read like a lower level YA book - so if you're an adult who wants to read a teenage protagonist book, but doesn't want to be coddled - maybe check this one out. 🤓If you like the Hunger Games, Demon Copperfield, or dystopian competition, you may like this book. Triggers: Violence, Death, Murder
