Behind The Closed Door

A book holds its value when it has the ability to bring you into the lives of its characters and makes you feel what they feel, cry when they cry, and laugh when they laugh. “Behind the Closed Door” is, therefore, worth more than its weight in gold. A true gem entwining the daily routines and surprises of its leading lady with the on goings of life in the time that she lived. Her German heritage, strong will, and limitless imagination are ever present and never lost within the plot of the story. The reader is able to grow and learn with the characters as new ones emerge and others are gracefully or tragically lost.
For those who appreciate new places, different cultures, history and travel, the author masterfully draws the reader in, as though they too are there. The beautiful use of words guides one’s imagination as new cities are introduced and explored, music delights the soul, and bellies are filled with decadent meals. This story assimilates all of the pieces of life, allowing the reader to find themselves within the story too.
