Ego's Ascent

Drawing on Gnosticism, Christianity, Jungian psychology, Hermeticism, alchemy and astrology, Ego’s Ascent is a spiritual fantasy set against a quasi-Hellenic backdrop inspired by Greco-Roman mythology.

Having won the cataclysmic Battle of Aeos, Ego of Aeonia’s attempts to spread the Forbidden Wisdom beyond his kingdom are persistently thwarted by the gods of Mount Empyrean, who rule mortals through the passions and vices of their souls. Guided by an ally from beyond the grave, Ego sets out to confront the gods head-on in the rarefied air of their lofty abode. But to ascend the mountain and attain the heights of immortality, Ego must sacrifice much of what it is that makes him human.

Ego's Ascent may be read as a standalone title, though it contains spoilers for Ego's Odyssey and Ego's Iliad.
