Descripción

Some love stories don’t stay buried, no matter how far you run.

Hazel Pierce has three goals for coming back to Star Falls:
1. Help her estranged dad.
2. Keep things strictly temporary.
3. Absolutely, under no circumstances, fall for Tucker Colburn again.

That plan dies a dramatic, soggy death when a rogue wasp sting sends Hazel swerving off the road and into the river—only to be hauled out, half-drowned and furious, by the Star Falls Fire Department’s finest. Unfortunately, “finest” is ex–best friend, ex–one-night mistake, and the man she’s been avoiding for a decade.

Tucker’s always had a way of getting into her head. And now between a family that thrives on gossip and a town that’s way too small for all this chemistry, Hazel’s running out of ways to avoid the truth. As sparks turn into late-night confessions and slow, toe-curling kisses, Hazel has to decide if she’s done running—from her past, from this town, and from the only man who’s ever made her feel like home. And Tucker has to prove that this time, he’s not just her safe place to crash—he’s her always.

Falling Into You is the third and final book in Jill Shalvis' Colbourn Brothers series, and it brings Tucker Colbourn's story to the forefront. Blending second-chance romance with emotional healing and a touch of suspense, it delivers a satisfying conclusion to the series.

Twelve years ago, Tucker's best friend and first love, Hazel Pierce, left Star Falls and shattered his heart. Now a firefighter and an estimator for the family business, Colbourn Restoration, Tucker learns that Hazel has returned to town to care for her ailing father. Recognizing that her expertise would be a valuable asset to the business, he convinces his brothers to hire her. Hazel is grateful for the opportunity but is determined to keep her distance from Tucker. However, working together makes avoiding the past nearly impossible.

Hazel was a difficult character for me to warm up to. Her insecurities, low self-esteem, and deep-rooted trust issues often fueled her hot-and-cold behavior, which became frustrating at times. After losing her mother as a teenager, she convinced herself she wasn't worthy of love, and those emotional scars continued to shape her decisions years later. That said, I appreciated her willingness to confront her past and make amends for the mistakes she had made.

Tucker was undoubtedly the highlight of the story. His patience, unwavering support, and determination to stand by Hazel never wavered. Time and again, he proved he would move heaven and earth to protect the woman he loved, even when she pushed him away. His devotion made it impossible not to root for him.

I also loved the role Tucker's family played in Hazel's journey. They welcomed her with open arms and continually reminded her that she was deserving of love and acceptance, despite how she viewed herself.

The suspense threaded throughout the series comes full circle in this installment. I enjoyed finally discovering who was behind the damaging incidents and learning what motivated their actions. It added another layer to the story and provided a satisfying resolution to the overarching mystery.

Overall, Falling Into You is an emotional second-chance romance about forgiveness, healing, and learning to accept the love you deserve. While Hazel's actions tested my patience more than once, Tucker's steadfast devotion and the satisfying conclusion to both the romance and the suspense made this a rewarding read and a fitting end to the Colbourn Brothers series.
