Hmm I’m left with a lot of questions after this one. Once again I’m annoyed by Mr. X. but only because he is the bad guy, and I feel the story of the lessers isn't that important. I don't want to know about them. But then the stories mesh and you have the light bulb moment. I cringed with what the lessers were creating. And I could see that it wasn't going to end well for one of the brotherhood.All in all a good book. It kind of makes me want to read the next one. I’m curious about Bella’s fate and if it's just a storyline left hanging or if it's continued in the next book.
A great follow up. I like the way each character is looked at and developed in detail. The romance angle is a bonus.
I chanced upon this book and I am so glad that I did. I am a sucker for a bit of romance! Again, not my usual type of read but I enjoyed it and have just bought the next one in the series. However, I did find myself covering the pages so that my 13 year old couldn't accidentally see. Although there are some sexual episodes within the book, it wasn't these that kept me reading. They were no different to or more explicit than 50 shades, as an example.
The second book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood saga brought a breakthrough to history in every possible aspect. First, the romance. Even though it's still something like love at first sight, the couple was much better built-in this second book. The author seems not to be in such a hurry to deliver us a perfect couple, as she did in her first work. Both Mary and Rhage have their insecurities that are well worked through throughout history. Second, the war against the lessers. The narrative really starts to take shape in this second book (which only gets better in the next ones). Something that still bothers me is the lesser POVs which I really find boring and unnecessary. Everything that was missing from the first book, this one introduced us. The couple was wonderful, as was the construction of the other warriors in the brotherhood, leaving us eager to read their respective stories.
