2.5 rounded down. Ugh. This was such a slog to get through. The characters were soulless and tedious (except Rita, I love me a good literary pup). The chapters told from Murray Mackenzie's perspective were the bright spots for me, and I would like to see a continuation of the story for him.Despite the many twists (and they were *fine*?), I never felt like I was trying to keep up with the book or that I was somehow out of the loop, and I think that's where it failed for me. On the whole, the plot twists were predictable, and even the one I didn't totally see coming wasn't a surprise. A real disappointment for me, because I adored both I Let You Go and I See You. Mackintosh has just finished the last chapter of her next book (according to Twitter), so I'm hoping to be brought back into the fold with that one.
