Descripción

In the whimsical world of Discworld, where magic and absurdity intertwine, Mort finds himself in the most unusual of circumstances. A young lad on the brink of adulthood, he is yearning for something more than the mundane life of an apprentice. Fate takes an unexpected turn when he is offered a position as Death's apprentice—an opportunity too strange to refuse.

As Mort grapples with the responsibilities of guiding souls to their final rest, he quickly realizes that the role comes with its own set of challenges. Death, portrayed as a skeletal figure with a surprisingly dry wit, becomes both a mentor and a friend, introducing Mort to the intricacies of the afterlife. However, Mort's inexperience leads to a fateful decision that sets off a chain of events, threatening the very fabric of existence.

With clever humor and poignant moments, Mort's journey explores themes of destiny, free will, and the importance of choices. Amid the chaos, Mort must navigate his path, learning that growing up often involves unexpected lessons from the most unlikely of teachers.

My entry book to the Discworld series Pratchett has such an engaging writing style that does an excellent job at introducing the reader to the seemingly vast and varied locations of the Discworld, with rich and often amusing depth, whilst keeping me hooked to the core story and characters, namely Mort and Death (easily the best rendition I've come across).
