Descripción

Predetermined Legacy tells the story of one white couple’s venture to establish affiliated churches throughout California. After twenty years of military service, Roger Thomason retired, and with their life savings of only $2,500, the couple jumped into their convertible and set out to build their organization. Their trail ended in South Central Los Angeles’ black neighborhood of Watts. Seeing the minorities in need of unification and social justice, the couple pitched a tent in the heart of town that attracted one hundred members. These same members followed Roger and Amelia to San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Oakland to set up church affiliates in those cities. As Roger lay on his deathbed, a black college student requested permission to prepare her thesis on Roger and Amelia Thomason and their work in the area of civil rights. The thesis was later published as a bestseller. The author noted Roger as the most trusted white man she had ever met.
