For years, Emily Raine has made sense of her strange childhood by creating one perfect Memory to hold together all of the rest. When she blithely gives it away to her filmmaker husband Jack as an idea for his new movie, it unleashes a flood of memories. The torrent threatens her vulnerable sanity until a strange coincidence brings her face to face with the real woman from her fictional Memory. As Jack transforms her memory into film, Emily makes her enchanted way through the Meridian, a mystical place that shifts between a psych ward for emotionally fragile women and a retreat for psychic geniuses undergoing metamorphosis.
