Reseñas
Ver todo3.8 stars, rounded up. I know, giving .2 stars off of 4 seems petty but I don't really care. This book has a ton going for it and I liked it a lot. It's definitely atmospheric - the Isle of Rum in the middle of a storm was a great setting - and I turned the pages compulsively, so I guess you could make the argument that it thrilled me (though I wouldn't say I was on the edge of my seat about anything). The ending was a surprise, as you'd expect, but was a bit unbelievable and that's really where the .2 stars come in to play. The ending isn't bad. But in a book which relied so heavily on being firmly set in reality, it was too out of the blue - it almost felt like a plot hole. It's hard to describe and I doubt I'm doing a good job, but it just felt off. HOWEVER. I still recommend this if you're into atmospheric thrillers. Regardless of how I ultimately felt about the conclusion, I had a lot of fun getting there.
