Smash Cut

Despite Paul's body being found with his mistress Julie, the Wheeler family hires an attorney to represent Paul's playboy nephew Creighton before police even charge a suspect. Julie doesn't want renowned Derek Mitchell on the case, mostly because of their romantic past--but also because she believes Creighton is guilty. When Creighton's alibi seems airtight, the police turn a suspicious eye toward Julie. Now she'll have to convince Derek of her innocence and prove that Creighton's obsession with movie murders is more than just a hobby.
