Descripción

When Andrew Solomon fell off a cruise ship and was rescued by French fishermen, the last thing he expected was to spend the rest of his life running a vineyard.

Sacked by the bank where he worked for being too indulgent with customers, he is encouraged to use the compensation received to buy a run down riverside farm with a few rows of vines in the middle of France.

In order to survive, Andrew and his new love Isobel, take in British visitors and buy a few sheep, but Isobel becomes bored and takes their baby daughter Ellie back to England. Despite this, with the encouragement of some local friends, Andrew builds a small winery and earns the hatred of the local wine cooperative by starting to succeed where they have failed. But his budding relationship with Sabine is shattered when Isobel suddenly reappears seeking refuge from a violent fiancée who follows her from London.
