Reseñas
Ver todoThe last book in the trilogy. What a ride. So much happened in this book it was consistently action upon action. I was never bored once while reading this.
After finishing the book, I didn't quite know what to make of the ending. On one hand, the ending felt very compressed, in comparison to the slow buildup, giving the book a half-hearted ending. On the other hand it reflected the consequences of war and human moral ambiguity. The consequences, such as grief and trauma, as well as guilt and anger were also displayed. Katniss Everdeen begins to doubt herself and her devotion to the cause, until she spirals down into her own trauma. The ending, in my opinion, was supposed to make the reader reflect on war and violence and its consequences. It was also meant to evoke a sense of disturbance and discomfort, since the rebellion not only leads to the overthrow of the Capitol, it also establishes a new one. In the process, Katniss' life falls apart. First she loses District 12, then most of her friends and comrades and eventually even her sister Prim.
