This was an almost perfect book. The main issue of the lack of character development in the first book was significantly improved in this installment, making it feel like an entirely new book. The writing was slightly less dry than in The Three-Body Problem, perhaps due to translation nuances. The ideas this time were excellent, leaning a bit more towards the political side but still very engaging. The only reason this book falls short of a five-star rating is the pacing, which felt a bit uneven. Some parts were quick and easy to read, while others were unnecessary and slow.
