The Foxglove King - Ein Hauch von Tod: Roman - Die opulente und düstere neue Romantasy-Reihe der SPIEGEL-Bestsellerautorin! Mit Farbschnitt in limitierter Auflage!

I devoured this book. From the very first page, I was swept into a world of death, intrigue, and dark magic that felt lush and intoxicating. We follow Lore, a young woman who’s spent years hiding her death magic—necromancy—for fear of being discovered. But when her powers are exposed, she’s dragged into the glittering yet deadly court of the king and tasked with uncovering the cause of a mysterious rot spreading across the land. Lore’s voice is sharp and compelling, and I loved how her strength and vulnerability played off one another. The world-building is rich and atmospheric, with its crumbling cathedrals, whispered prayers to gods long gone, and the decadent court politics that shimmer with danger. Death magic, forbidden romance, and the tension of secrets being unravelled—this book has it all.And let’s talk about the characters: Lore is a fantastic protagonist, but it’s the men orbiting her—Gabriel, the brooding monk, and Bastian, the charming prince—that had me on edge. The dynamic between the three is electric, full of tension, trust, and betrayal, and I couldn’t get enough. The stakes felt huge, and the twists and turns kept me guessing right up until the end. By the final chapter, I was equal parts breathless and desperate for the sequel. If you love gothic fantasy with morally grey characters, court intrigue, and a heroine who straddles life and death, The Foxglove King is for you. It’s dark, decadent, and absolutely unforgettable.

I was given this Arc Copy in exchange for an honest review of the book. Thank you Netgalley and Hannah Whitten for this opportunity. Wow. I enjoyed this book! The beginning was a little slow but what book isn't when you're introducing a new world? However, once the action started I was hooked until the end! I'm getting Serpent & Dove vibes but if Serpent & Dove had a love triangle. Well, a hinted-at love triangle anyways. So if you enjoyed S&D, you'll more than likely enjoy this book. I love the whole concept of the book. The world, the characters, the magic. It was definitely up my street. This is the first book I've read by this author and I've got to say, I want to read more. I've heard that this is going to be a duology which has me extremely excited! Do I recommend The Foxglove King? Yes, definitely. It's an amazing book to get your fantasy fix from! The cover is absolutely beautiful as well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
