The Ice Princess

A young writer slowly unpeels the layers of pretense hiding dark secrets in her home-town in Swedish author Camilla Lackberg's first book to gain an English translation, THE ICE PRINCESS. Erica Falack somewhat reluctantly returns to the small village where she grew up after her parents both unexpectedly die. Reeling from their death, she pays a spontaneous visit to a childhood friend, Alex, only to find her dead with slit wrists in a bitterly cold bathtub of water. At the prompting of Alex's parents Erica embarks on a writing project about the mysterious Alex, which swiftly grows into an obsession. But Erica's major breakthrough comes when she meets a police officer who is also investigating Alex's death. Working together, the two uncover some long-kept, disturbing, and painful details that many in the town would prefer never came to light.
