When a misstep leads him to form an unexpected bond with a girl who challenges his usual pickup lines, he finds himself grappling with emotions he thought he could easily suppress. The easy banter and chemistry they share become a double-edged sword, pushing him toward introspection about his choices and what he truly desires from his life and relationships.
As he navigates the complexities of love, friendship, and personal growth, Logan must decide if he is ready to let go of his old ways or risk losing someone who might just be worth the effort. It's a journey of self-discovery that tests his limits and redefines what it means to love and be loved.

Won't lie. I mostly found it boring, but the ending was sweet. Found John Logan to have a misogynistic attitude, but Grace Ivers was likable. I thought the book was very tell, not show, when it came to the romantic progression, and I found that the characters had little growth. The 'kidnapping' at the end was quite cliche as a trope. I felt it was thrown in to disguise the fact that the rest of the book had very little plot, but the emotions and fear were well written. I thought the theme of alcoholism was mostly well written throughout the book. However, I felt the problem with Logan not being able to play hockey was resolved to quickly and neatly at the end, which kind of ruined that plotline.
