درباره نویسنده
Taisen Deshimaru was a prominent Japanese Zen master known for his significant influence on the spread of Zen Buddhism in the West. Born in Takamatsu in 1914, he dedicated his life to the practice and teaching of Zen. Deshimaru studied under the guidance of several masters, including Kodo Sawaki, and eventually became a pivotal figure in introducing Zen meditation and philosophy to a broader audience. His teachings emphasized the importance of zazen, or seated meditation, as a means to achieve enlightenment and inner peace.
In the 1960s, he moved to France, where he established the first Zen temple in Europe, known as the "Zen Center of Paris." Through his writings and teachings, such as in his notable books like "The Zen Way to Martial Arts" and "The Ring of the Way," Deshimaru sought to bridge the gap between traditional Japanese Zen and Western thought. His legacy continues to inspire many practitioners around the world, as he laid the groundwork for the integration of Zen practices into modern life.
