I LOVED the first half- the best meet cute with the dog, their playful banter back and forth, the progression of their relationship… it was all perfect. There were so many moments that had me literally laughing out loud. All the famous musician tour drama is where the 2nd half lost me a bit but it was still a great read! Definitely instalove and cliche and dramatic but I don’t even care! That’s how well Jimenez writes her characters.
I had promised myself to not read Abby Jimenez anymore, because I got very triggered by her POYW series and also by Say You'll Remember Me. They just seemed overly sad for the sake of being sad and tragic and dramatic.I'm glad I decided to give her another chance. This one was also extremely dramatic, but I was probably able to enjoy it more because it didn't hit on sensitive topics for me.I loved Jason and Sloan and I need Tucker to know he's a very good boy. I felt like they fell in love too fast, and that's usually a big downside for me, but in this case it worked. In this case, I really liked how we followed the "what happens after they end up together and madly in love" part of a love story. And I think it was beautifully executed.I don't know why I've given it 4⭐ and not 5⭐. I just didn't get that special feeling from this book, but it was a beautiful experience nonetheless.
Don't love a celebrity romance pero the emotional beats pulled their weight enough
3.5 because i wasn't really rooting for their relationship. esp since he was like some type of indie singer. AND they fell in love in 2 weeks, over the phone like um... the romance js did not make me gigglethe dude really texted her 'sext me' and she SAID 'we were so adorable, even I could barely stand us'. WHAT ?!
