10대 주인공을 다루어 처음 YA 스릴러 소설로 론칭되었던 이 소설은 드물게도 출간 전 원고를 읽은 프랑스와 독일 등의 유럽 성인 출판사들이 ‘10대를 주인공으로 한 <양들의 침묵>’이라는 호평과 함께 성인 스릴러로 계약, 출간함으로서 이슈가 되기도 하였다. 살인자의 심리를 파고드는 뛰어난 긴장감과 죽음과 폭력에 대한 세심한 묘사는 성인 스릴러로서도 전혀 손색이 없다.

🔸6% "... tools that Billy had given him on his eleventh birthday." "He’d been practicing most of his life, after all." Isn't a little weird he didn't stop at 13 when his dad was arrested? Wouldn't he want to distance himself from those lessons as much as he could?? If he's really so worried about also being a killer?
🔸15% "Late at night." "Car died two miles back, you see." A woman walked TWO MILES with an unknown man? Is this the 70s? Really? That's stupid. Maybe even tstl.
