I'd like to nominate Uncle Andrew for the "most nefarious literary uncles" list. Someone has to keep one of those somewhere, right? This is honestly one of my favorite Narnia books and always has been. The start of things is almost always one of my favorite parts of any series, and this is the beginning of Narnia. (I will also fight to the death about it being the first book in the series and not "The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe" but that's beside the point.) Seeing certain characters for the very first time and the very beginnings of how things were before the Pevensies stumble upon the land is always fun, and the audiobook version of this was a delight from beginning to end. It felt like someone was reading me the story again, and that was a lot of fun.

I started Narnia with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in high school and really enjoyed it. As an adult returning to this world, I decided to give it a go by reading it chronologically instead of publication order and WOW!
The Magician’s Nephew works less as an adventure and more as an origin story. Lewis shows how worlds and responsibility begin. The plot looks simple: two children, magic rings, a reckless uncle and a released evil. But the real theme is choice. Trouble comes from curiosity without conscience and experiments without care for consequences. Uncle Andrew is not a classic villain. He is a selfish man hiding behind “science,” treating people and worlds as tools. In that way he feels uncomfortably realistic. When Aslan appears, the book changes. Narnia is born through song, not force, and the story becomes quietly philosophical about creation. The symbolism can feel heavy, yet the novel remains calm and thoughtful. It is less about battles and more about watching a world learn to exist.The Magician’s Nephew is about how easy it is to ruin things and how hard it is to create them. A serious idea in the form of a children’s tale.
A charming origin story for Narnia—seeing its creation, meeting a young Digory, and discovering the wardrobe’s beginning was delightful. Reading it 4th in the series added a special magic to the experience.
it was way better than I thought it'd be I mean not much happened but at the same time loads happened and Iiked the characters and the story and it's a good introduction to narnia and story of how it was born
