Harry Potter wants to get away from the pernicious Dursleys and go to the Quidditch World Cup with Hermione, Ron, and the Weasleys. He wants to dream about Cho Chang, his crush (and maybe do more than dream). He wants to find out about the mysterious event involving two other rival schools of magic, and a competition that hasn't happened for hundreds of years. He wants to be a normal, fourteen-year-old wizard. Unfortunately for Harry Potter, he's not normal; he’s different -- even by wizarding standards. And in this case, different can be deadly.
Fourteen-year-old Harry Potter joins the Weasleys at the Quidditch World Cup, then enters his fourth year at Hogwarts Academy where he is mysteriously entered in an unusual contest that challenges his wizarding skills, friendships and character, amid signs that an old enemy is growing stronger.
I laughed, smiled, cried and felt frustration throughout this entire book. So many plot twists, so many tense moments that kept me reading non stop. I related to the main characters the most than in the other previous books. Again, much more deep and complex than the movie. Everything made more sense and some characters were shown in a new light (Ludo, Crouch and Fudge). The backstory made it more clear. I couldn't stop crying when Cedric died, especially because of Harry's trauma. Must be the first time I've cried because of a book, I'm quite sure I'll cry even more in the next books and I'm way too excited for that. 🙈
4.5 starsI loved every single moment of the book. The illustrations was as beautiful as always. I just kind of wanted more illustrations though, but it was overall amazing.
I love how distinctive each character is, the way the author displayed their own uniqueness is truly wonderful. Needless to say, Harry is a flawed character, there are times when I found it hard to carry on when he displays prejudice towards his friends.But still, this one rocks! I want Dumbledore to be my grandpa.⚡
Loved this one! Favorite so far. Loved all the story lines and how all the little mysteries were figured out.
Cada vez me sorprende todo eso, de verdad no me arrepiento de mi relectura, ahora me doy cuenta de muchas cosas y siento que tengo en mente todo lo que pasa. Amo definitivamente estos libros, forman parte de lo mejor.
[Spoiler Free Review]I feel like this book and the movie is kind of underrated? (As underrated as a harry potter book can be lol) But in my opinion this is the second best after prisoner of Azkaban. I just thought the whole plotline with the cup was interesting and thrilling. The new characters I liked were Krum, Robert Pattinson- I mean Cedric and Barty Crouch Jr, really great additions and I wish we had more time with them. I also greatly enjoyed the plot twist of this one, probably my most favourite "mystery" in the series and it only gets better on the second reread/rewatch.

I'm not going to even lie to you. Literally I got teary eyed. I definitely did. Like oh my god watching the movies and reading the books are two different things. I always grow up watching the movies. I never once thought about the idea that I would pick up the book series and read the book series. Here. I am though at the age of 23 are reading the book series and the amount of details and this book compared to the movie is astounding. Like omg they messed a lot in the movies. Kind of not really. They got most details in the important details but there's so many small details that are so good. And literally the idea that I got teardied reading chapter 36 and by the end of chapter 36 I was like trying to force back the tears like that's no. No not okay
Es uno de mis libros favoritos de la saga, más que nada porque es el primero que siento que pone el foco en problemas y situaciones que pasan al rededor de los 14 años, además de que amplía todo el mundo mágico con Beauxbatons y Durmstrang en lugar de centrarse únicamente en la cultura británica.
2025 Reread: This is my first time reading all of Goblet since I was in high school. I remembered it being one of my favorites in the series back in the day, and I can absolutely see why.
