This is a semi-autobiographical book about a 27 yr old chinese man in the 1930s who falls in love with a 15 yr old white girl in the indochinese french colonies. I feel like the author - the girl in the sto4y - romanticizes and/or pities the man too much, cinsidering he fell in love with a child, but towards the end of the book, this attitude changes slightly.I didn't "love" this book, but it wasn't a bad read either.
