The ride this book took me on was up, down & upside down. 🎢It was so creatively written. It's engaging. It's enthralling. The characters are writen so very well. It's a page-turner that's for anyone who's a reader, even if you don't normally read science fiction. It's not too 'tech-y' and it's more focused on the characters and events as experienced by them than on science (so, less science-y for a non-sci-fi reader than Project Hail Mary, for example)If you like, The Secret Life of Addie LaRue, or the movie Total Recall, or Dr. Who, you may like this book.
Give a shot if you're a science enthusiast or love non- linear story tellingIt's really a brain fucker
Recursion feels like reality folding in on itself—part love story, part existential mind trip. Crouch takes the idea of memory and regret and turns it into something you can almost touch. It’s sci-fi without feeling too far removed from real life, the kind that makes you question how much of your own past you’d rewrite if you could. The story plays out like a precursor to the Minority Report meeting The Butterfly Effect, but with deeper emotional stakes and a creeping sense that you’ve lived this moment before like a tangible mandela effect or bad déjà vu
