As someone who absolutely loves the Narnia movies, I’ve been eager to dive into the books for a while. This is the second book I’ve read after The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (I’m reading them in a different order), and I’m thrilled with how the story continues. In this book, we meet Prince Caspian, a young prince who, with the help of High King Peter, recovers his rightful position as the true King of Narnia. Together, they bring the Old Narnia creatures out of hiding and restore the land to its former glory. It's a beautifully written book that is easy to follow, and even though there’s less action than in the movie, the key events are still well represented. The themes of bravery, friendship, and standing up for what’s right really shine through. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves The Chronicles of Narnia or wants to escape into a magical world of adventure and fantasy.
The fourth book in the Chronicles of Narnia, although it was a good book, compared to the previous books it was my least favorite. I don't really know how to explain why, because I enjoyed the story itself and the characters, I think it just didn't capture me like the other stories. Prince Caspian is a very charismatic and captivating character, but I missed something more about him, but I know I can't charge too much since the target audience is not people in my age group. The brothers continue to be wonderful characters. Edmundo is completely different from the first book he appeared in and I enjoyed seeing this evolution and how he learned from his mistakes. Suzana was very irritating in this book, I'm not going to lie, you could already see what C S Lewis was doing with her character given what happens at the end (yes, I got spoilers). I think what I missed most here was more interaction between the brothers and Prince Caspian. I enjoyed seeing more creatures from Narnia and discovering the real stories of the Teomarinos, as always the world building is impeccable and enchanting for any reader. I highly recommend this series for anyone who is thinking about returning to reading or helping someone who wanted to start this habit.
