✨️REVIEW✨️ The Switch by Beth O'Leary⭐️⭐️⭐️This was such a quick, easy book to read. It was a feel-good book with a HEA. It is a beautiful story of love, family, betrayal, grief and finding yourself again after a devasting trauma. This was the first book I've read from this author. I would read more by her, as like this, I'm sure they'd be a great refresher/pallette cleanser between books. The writing was well done and the plot easy to follow. It is a dual POV. The thing I really loved about this book is the subject of grief and anxiety and how these are real, valid feelings and the book shows different ways that people deal with these. The quote pictured (insta account) was very early in the book, but resonated with me very strongly. I have anxiety and this was so real, I could feel how she felt. It was written so well. Definitely worth a read, if you're looking for something quick and enlightening to read.
This book took me on an emotional roller-coaster. I cried, I laughed, I squealed in joy.
This is a delightful fun story of a grandmother and granddaughter who switch lives for 8 weeks, each needing a break from their own lives and the results of that. The way the grief over the granddaughter's sister's death was handled so well, I was tearing up at points as they each described the hole they felt and the way they did or did not deal with it. I really liked the dual narrator style of writing, and just loved the romance (from both of them) throughout. It's fairly unusual to have sex discussed for an older more elderly character, and it was closed door, but I loved both characters romances equally. The narrator's British accents were absolutely delightful and it was so good as an audiobook (minus the scenes of online dating written messages back and forth, that got a bit tedious in audio form!) The story held my attention, and I looked forward to listening to it during my commute to work. Thanks to NetGalley and Quercus Publishing for the audio copy of it!
