there’s nothing i love more than a well written family drama
I love a good character-driven novel with lots of drama. I also really enjoy books that explore the theme of grief. Combining those truths, I was certain I would love "Blue Sisters." But, sadly, it was a bit of a letdown. While the book is an interesting study on grieving, played out through how each of the Blue sisters approach the death of their fourth sister, all of the characters felt insufferable. The sisters POV rotates between the chapters, but no matter who was narrating, I just didn't care about the story. The emotion felt too forced.I probably should have DNF-ed this one around halfway, but I kept expecting the story to improve.Note: this book has a 4+ star rating on Storygraph, so it's likely just "me" not jiving with the novel.
