Branch
The third volume of the Philip Ball Morphology Trilogy, Relationships between Forms, is a book that combines the examples of the natural world and human society to explain the ways in which various forms grow and connect. It is only through this book that we can understand how the finer forms grow in a huge form as they repeat and divide in the natural world. Furthermore, the way in which the various forms grow and relate to each other will provide clues to how the various networks of human society are formed.

Chapter 1 is the branch of the hexagonal snowflake, the small but most fascinating branch. To start. The theme of Chapter 2 is fractal. The meaning and limitations of the fractal, once thought to be the universal key that can explain all forms of the world, are addressed, and chapter 3 deals with the different forms of branches that can be seen when a crack occurs. The theme of chapter 4 is the waterway, one of the most common forms of branches we see. Applying the various morphological theories mentioned in the previous chapters, the rivers three-dimensionally describe the processes and reasons for the formation of a number of forked river networks by dividing continuously.

Chapter 5 As he turns, he talks about how the branches of trees and leaves are formed. In Chapter 6, the author enters the core of our modern society. Topics include human relations, the Internet, and various networks surrounding us. The authors point out that human social networks often have two qualities of opposing randomness and flocking. In addition, it analyzes the average number of connections between components, that is, the "unscaled network", and presents the Internet as a representative example. The final chapter, Epilogue, summarizes the morphology trilogy of Appearance, Flow, and Eggplant.
