Bristol Derby Days

Bristol Derby Days is a unique and fascinating look at the Bristol Derby, not filled with facts and figures but as seen through the thoughts and eyes of players who have been involved in this historic, passionate and often fraught fixture. Thirteen Bristol City and Bristol Rovers players from past to present share their stories telling us what the Bristol Derby means to them, what it was like to play in one and their favourite game for whatever reason. Furthermore, it also tells us what happened to the individual players after they left the blue and white quarters of Rovers or the red of City and where their careers took them. Some are still plying their trade at the very top of the football elite and some are just left with memories. It's a book that spans all generations, from the fifties to the present day and is ideal for granddads, dads and youngsters. Written by Bristol resident Neil Palmer who is neither a fan of Rovers or City but someone who is intrigued by the history, passion and often torrid events that have marred this otherwise uniquely 'Bristle' fixture. With contributions from players including Peter Hooper, Brian Clark, Howard Radford, Geoff Merrick, Harold Jarman, Donnie Gillies, Stuart Taylor, Paul Cheesley, Peter Aitken, Keith Fear, Tony Pulis, Martin Hirst, Paul Randall, Alan Walsh, Geoff Twentyman, Rob Newman, Marcus Stewart, Andy Llewellyn, Carl Saunders, Louis Carey, Peter Beadle, Steve Phillips, Trevor Jacobs, Brian Tinnion, David Moyes and David Mehew.
