🎠2.8 stars🎪Nothing really happens until like, the last 100 pages, when EVERYTHING happens... twist after twist after twist on twist...🪢🫰Some of the scenes in the book were aesthetic and creative.👍Liked Stephanie Garber's writing! Pacing and prose were great.👌Scarlett didn't seem devastated enough when the people she cared about were in danger -- could be because it's in third person though.👎 Scarlett and Julian's romance felt a bit rushed...? Her falling in love felt like a moment instead of a process.👎Too many plot twists... it made everything confusing and complicated.
1.5 stars“Every person has the power to change their fate if they are brave enough to fight for what they desire more than anything.”Well.... what can I say? I was bored throughout mostly the entire book.
No logré enganchar mucho al inicio y me costó harto terminarlo, la historia empezó algo confusa pero el grado de misterio que tenía fue lo que más me gustó, junto con los giros en la trama. Lo que más destaco es el final, que tremendo!!

A great read! Full of mystery, magic and imagination. A story of love, hope and romance versus cruelty and sadness. I look forward to the sequel 'Legendary' to be released in May 2018.

A ver.. Sin dudas no es lo que esperaba. Caraval me dejó "recalculando" jajaja.En esta historia conoceremos a las hermanas Scarlett y Donatella, dos jóvenes agobiadas por la severidad y castigos constantes de su padre. Ellas acabarán en la isla de un misterioso personaje llamado Legend, maestro del festival de Caraval. Allí todo puede ser posible, todo puede ser real o una ilusión. El evento principal consiste en una serie de desafíos que harán que al ganador se le conceda un deseo, cualquiera, el que anhele en verdad en su corazón.Durante su estancia en el festival, Tella desaparece y Scarlett debe hacer todo lo que esté a su alcance para encontrala antes que finalice Caraval. Quien la acompañará en su búsqueda es Julián, un marinero del que poco conocemos, y de engañosa personalidad.Si bien algunas cosas de Scarlett me molestan a lo largo de la historia, como un cliché de damicela en apuros que sólo con un matrimonio o su ofrenda como martir se podrá liberar de sus problemas, creo que de a poco toma valor y se hace cargo de sus propias decisiones. El personaje de Julián a mi me enamoró, pero es un poco tedioso no saber nunca si está diciendo la verdad o no, y como esto pasa muchas veces a lo largo de la historia, ya me quería dar por vencida con él
I was confused for about half of it but still really liked it and can't wait to read the next one.

The plot twists actually got me on this one, I read this book 6 years ago and just re read it and it's safe to say I appreciate this book a lot more now then I did then. I would give this 5 stars, but I'm hoping the next books in the series impress me more. I loved the relationships and world building, I can't wait for the next read.
