Superheroes come in all colours

At 1700 pages Changels Genesis is an operatic scale adventure which spans planet Earth from 2007 to 2009. The hero is Sam Kahu, a 14-year old Maori boy who is the sole survivor of a fire on a remote island. Sue, a young lesbian detective, tries to get him to talk but it's not until he's saved her life that she is willing to listen to his vast secret.
Gradually Sam draws Sue into his world, exposing her to threats she never even imagined along the way, and slowly he reveals how he, and five other minority teens from around the world are actually global superheroes who work to safeguard others of their generation who will prevent global catastrophe in their later lives. They are the guardian angels of change, the changels, seeing first hand how our world is blighted by genetic intolerance.
Sue also learns that we are not alone and that there are others living amongst us in the shadows who need our wars and plagues to feed their dismal needs. Others who will stop at nothing to destroy the changels and return humanity to servility and confusion.
Based on multiple true stories from around the world, woven around a supernatural plot, with romance and a slight hint of Shakespeare's The Tempest, Changels Genesis is both a myth and a documentary of our times.
