When Cleo Bailey, a 16-year-old boy devastated by tragedy, discovers an incredible yet dangerous family ability, he must survive the creations of past literary masters in order to save his mother, believed to have died five years earlier, and reunite his fractured family.
On Cleo’s 16th birthday he realizes he has the power to travel into any book or manuscript and take part in those stories. He can use his newly found ability as a getaway, whenever he becomes overwhelmed or jaded with reality. He can use it to get firsthand looks at worlds that otherwise do not exist. But most importantly, he can use it to find his mother, Calliope, who also possesses this gift and is trapped inside one of the countless tales in existence. With the help of the caring but mysterious Ramiel, Cleo will search the minds of Verne, Grimm, Barrie and Calliope herself in order to rescue her from an unknown fate.
