I just finished Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes. I loved the story, but I really didn鈥檛 like the ending鈥� Kane being alive and them getting a happy ending just didn鈥檛 work for me. I wish Nysus had survived instead of Kane, it would鈥檝e made more sense, especially with how aware and intelligent Nysus was. His death was genuinely shocking to me. I also wanted Reed to survive. Yeah, he was a jerk, but it felt like he had real potential for character development. That said, I still enjoyed the story overall. It totally reminded me of the video game Dead Space (which is one of my all-time favorites). The atmosphere and tension were excellent, but the ending? Meh. It just felt weak.
