Dororo, Vol. 1

In a dark and fantastical world, a young boy named Hyakkimaru embarks on a harrowing journey to reclaim the body parts stolen from him at birth. Each of these missing pieces was offered as a sinister tribute by his father to cruel demons. As he wanders through treacherous landscapes, Hyakkimaru grapples with the harsh realities of a world fraught with danger, both from the monstrous beings that roam the land and the faceless greed of humanity.

Along his path, he encounters Dororo, a resourceful orphan who becomes an unexpected companion. With a mischievous spirit and a knack for survival, Dororo adds a layer of lightness and camaraderie to Hyakkimaru's grim mission. Their dynamic unfolds through thrilling battles and poignant moments, highlighting themes of friendship, loss, and the quest for identity.

As they confront formidable foes and uncover the depths of human cruelty, readers are drawn into a gripping narrative filled with rich illustrations and profound emotional depth. Tezuka masterfully weaves a tale that captivates not only through its action but also through its exploration of what it means to be whole.
